George Russell to Mercedes? Here's a little insight into his career.

Recently there's been a lot of speculation that:

1.George Russell is going to replace Valtteri Bottas in 2022.

2. And also that Mercedes would announce their full British lineup of Lewis Hamilton and George Russell at the 2021 British Grand Prix.

Here is what a couple of F1 greats has to say about it:-

Red Bull advisor, Dr Helmut Marko

As motersport.com quoted: "You can't hold it off any longer. Otherwise, the funding will no longer make sense. Even if Hamilton won't be happy."

As for Bottas Future, he went on to say that,

"Bottas doesn't have to call us there is no space. I can only imagine a swap with Russell. I think Williams will be the only option for him.

Six-time F1 GP winner, Ralf schumacher had this to say:

As news24.com quoted, "For that, he would have to drive extremely badly, and he doesn't. We've seen it with Ricciardo at McLaren and Perez at Red Bull, it is very difficult to quickly adapt to a new car. But in the medium term, I would put George Russell in a Mercedes. I do think he would do a better job there than Bottas. Because of all the setbacks, he's had, the whole thing is slowly becoming very difficult for Valtteri."

Now here's a little insight into the career of George Russell, one of the future stars of F1.

Full Name: George William Russell

Nationality: British

Russell first started karting in 2006. While karting he won the:

1.MSA British Championship.

4.CIK-FIA Europen Champion, which he went on to defend in 2012.

He then made his way up to single-seaters in 2014. Where he won:

2018 FIA F2 Championship (after a tough fight with his best mates Alex Albon and Lando Norris)

In 2017 he was also drafted into the Mercedes AMG Petronas Driver Programme.

In 2019 he was promoted to F1 to drive for the Williams F1 team and signed a multi-year contract. He also gained popularity by the name: Mr Saturday never out-qualified by a Williams teammate.

In 2020 he was given his first shot in a Mercedes when Lewis Hamilton got covid. He was out-qualified by bottles by only a couple of tenths and pulled off amazing overtakes to take the lead of the race until a pit stop mistake ruined hisrace.

So far in the 2021 season, he has always qualified in Q2 but is yet to score points.
