Stefano Domenicali, F1 and beyond.

In recent times, there has been a lot of talk that Stefano Domenicali, known to most people as the ex-Ferrari boss, is going to replace the now F1 boss Chase Cary. And on the 25th of September 2020, there was a news article confirming these rumours. This made me curious to know more about Stefano Domenicali.

Stefano is an Italian. He was born in Imola. After graduating from the University of Bologna in 1991, he joined the finance department of Ferrari. Similar to the other recent team Ferrari principals, Maurizio Arrivabene and Mattia Binnoto, he too had to work his way up the hierarchy at Ferrari.

After working in Ferrari for 17 long years, on the 12th of November 2007, Stefano was announced to be the Director of the prestigious motor racing team, Scuderia Ferrari, replacing Jean Toldt, the current president of the FIA. It was under Domenicali's leadership that Ferrari won their last constructors championship in 2008. After a couple of 'bleak' years, he resigned from his position in The April of 2014. That was 23 years since he first started at Ferrari.

In 2014, Stefano was appointed the head of the FIA's Single Seater Commission. He is still the president of that commission.

Moving on from F1, in November of 2014, Stefano was appointed as the Vice President of New Business Initiatives at Audi AG.

In 2016, he was announced as the CEO of Lamborghini. He led the sports car company through a very successful period.

One can easily recognize the sound of a Lamborghini engine due to the amazing roar of the engine! We all know Lamborgini for their booming V12 engine and their V10 engines. Stefano Domenicali steered Lamborghini's engine department towards hybrid powertrains.

Apart from the engines, Stefano helped the brand in many other ways such as:

1.Stefano helped double global sales and also helped Lamborghini gain awareness on a global scale.
2.He helped Lamborghini introduce their new and spectacular SUV sports utility car, 'The Lamborghini Urus.'

In my opinion, Stefano is one of the best man Formula One could have chosen to lead them. This is because:

1.Stefano has had the experience of working in and leading a Formula 1 team.

2.Also,his business perspective and experience at Audi and Lamborghini will help him take the wheel and improve F1 with the expertise that he brings.
