Abu Dhabi Race Predictions

The 2020 F1 season has been a roller coaster of emotions with:-

  • Hamilton getting coronavirus.
  • GR63 getting robbed of his first win and podium.
  • LN4 standing on his first podium in F1.
  • F1's favourite team paring is coming to an end, Carlos and Lando (or as I like to call them, Carlando)
  • With Abu Dhabi being SV5'S last race for Ferrari, it truly feels like the end of an era!
  • Magnussen and Grosjean are leaving F1 after a long time.

Abu Dhabi is a tricky and technical track. It's also a track where the circuit continues to evolve as the night goes on.

Here are my thoughts on the teamns:

Mercedes-AMG

  • They have the fastest car ever made in F1.
  • Their car is also stable in the corners unlike their closest competitors, Red Bull.
  • Their No:1 driver is making a return after contracting covid and missing the last race.

Scuderia Ferrai

  • We have seen in multiple races this year that the Ferraris are not the fastest of their
  • competitors in terms of race pace, thus giving them a disadvantage.
  • They mainly depend on 1 driver for points.

Red Bull Racing

  • Have mainly depended on one car for scoring points during the whole season.
  • Have secured P2 in the championship.
  • The car does not have a very stable rear end.
  • Still have to choose which driver will join MV33 nxt year.
  • The car does not get off the line well.

Mclaren

  • They have the same engine as their main rival, thus making it more of an even playing field.
  • Are arguably slower than the Racing Points, who are their strongest competition for the 3rd place in the Constructors Championship.
  • Suprisingly qualifyed above both the Racing Points and Reanults, and Lando was omly 2ths off pole!!
  • People saw that races can be won or lost in the pit stops, Mclaren has had a few issues during the pit stops that have cost them a few positions.
  • Parting ways with Carlos Sainz and will want to do so on a high.

    Reanult

  • They have the same engine as their main competitor, Mclaren.
  • Inconsistent with their results.
  • Have come off the high of scoring a podium with EO21
  • Have not made the most of their races in terms of race strategy etc.

Racing Point

  • Scored their first double podium last race with SP11 winning the race and LS18 coming 3rd.
  • Have a Mercedes engine which is the fastest engine on the F1 grid.
  • They are faster than all 3 of its main competitors
  • Usually do not maximise their strategies during the race. They even missed out on several podiums.

AlphaTauri

  • They don't only maximise their race pace but also their strategy.
  • Have great drivers who have outperformed the car underneath them a lot.
  • Do not have any direct competition with any team.
  • They are a part of the lower half of the F1 cars pack.

    Alpha Romeo

  • Have fought with their main competitors, which includes Ferrari
  • Are slowly making steps in the right direction.
  • They are a part of the lower half of the F1 cars pack.

    Haas

  • Have a Ferrari engine which is facing some issues this season. Lucky their closest competitor {Alfa Romeo}also has the same engine.

    Williams

  • They have taken a huge leap in terms of car performance in the 2020 season.
  • Is still arguably the slowest car on the grid, but has come very close to scoring points (Austria 2020, Imola 2020 and lastly Bahrain 2020), but sadly, luck was not on their side.
