Can Jenson Button help Williams??

The Williams F1 team recently announced Jenson Button as their senior advisor. So why Jenson Button? Who is he? What expertise does he have to help them?

Here's a little information about Jenson Button.

Jenson Alexander Lyons Button is an ex-F1 world champion who was born on the 19th of January, 1980. He is the son of the former rallycross driver, John Button. Jenson Button received his first F1 drive from Williams in 2000 making him the youngest British driver, at the time. After securing the 6th place in the Brazilian GP, the second race of the season, making him the youngest ever driver to ever score points, at the time. In the first-ever F1 season he qualified as high as 3rd place and his highest race result being 4th place.

In 2003 he scored his first podium with the BAR F1 team in Malaysia. It was also the year he scored his first pole position. He also went on to score 10 podiums that season and came 3rd in the driver's championship.

At this point, many people said that Button would never win a race, but he proved all of them wrong by winning in the Hungarian GP of 2006.

But 2009 was his real-time to shine! He became a world champion, with 6 wins and 9 podiums.

He retired from F1 in 2016 with a total of 14 wins and having raced for 7 different teams!! Even after retiring from F1, he continued to race in Super GT, 24 hours of Le Mans, the World Endurance Championship and lastly the British GP championship.

Having said all this, we can easily conclude that Jenson is a man with a lot of experience and also knows how a well-oiled championship winning team works. He was also previously a part of the team so knows how they work and what they can do better. He can provide a lot of technical and important advice to the team. He will also be able to help the team from their current situation and back to the top.

And with some help from his young friend Fernando Alonso, he might even be able to secure a young drivers’ test this year!!

We also hope to see Williams rise to its former glory soon!!
